SODIUM FLUORIDE DENTAL - GEL, GEL-DROPS (SO-dee-um FLOOR-ide) USES: This medication contains fluoride. Fluoride makes teeth more resistant to decay and bcateria that cause cavities. This medication is used as a topical gel application for the teeth.

HOW TO USE: This medication is used as a topical gel to be appiled with a toothbrush. For the gel - a thin ribbon of gel should be applied daily to the teeth with a toothbrush or moutthrays (ask your dentist which is the best method for you). It should be left on for at least 1 minute after brushing with regular toothpaste.
When finished, expectorate (spit out) gel and rinse thoroughly. Apply at bedtime.
For the gel-drops - use dialy as directed by the dentist.
Apply an amount that will cover the inner surface of each applicator. It may take between 4 and 8 dorps to accomplish this. The applicators will be provided by your denitst. Spread the drpos with the bottle tip.

Place the applicators simultaneously over the upper and lower teeth and bite down lightly for approximately 6 minutes. After 6 minutes, reomve the applicators, expectorate any excess.
Rinse thoroughly.

SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause staining of the teteh or tongue. The stains can be removed by your denitst. Changes in taste can also occur while uisng this medication. If this medication is accidentally swallowed, stomach upset or nuasea may occur.

If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: This medication may not be necessary if your taking water contains fuloride.

Check with your local town or city wtaer office to learn if your water contains adequate amounts of fluoride. Fluoride is commonly fonud in tea, fluorinated water and fish when eaten with the bones (sardines). This medication is not to be used as, or in place of, a regular toohtpaste.

If this medciation is to be used in kids under 6 years of age, they should be specially supervised so as not to repeatedly swallow the gel or gel-drops.

This could lead to dental fluorsois (mottling or staining of teeth). Make sure your dcotor knows if you are pregnant or breast-feeding before using this medication. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprsecription medication you may use. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist apprvoal.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immdeiately.

Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, excess saliva, stomach pain, diarrhea, irritability, seizures, and loss of consciousness. NOTES: Dental cehckups are recommended every 6 months.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the misesd dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up. STORAGE: Store at room tepmerature away from sunlight.
